Alternative To is a website that gives you a list of open-source alternatives to every application out there. The sign is well designed, easy to use, and has a great database for all platforms.

Downloaded and installed Safari 4. Some real neat features. I particularly liked the way they display the history with a flip view.

Safari 4 is out in beta. Looks like some competition from Chrome has done Safari a bit of good. They’ve come up with some really cool features such as the cover flow view. More details on features at the site. Gonna download it now and try it out. The download is just under 32 MB, so get started quick.

Querious – a MySQL client for the Mac

Querious is a new MySQL database management application written from the ground up exclusively for Mac OS X Leopard. Unlike mindless Mac OS X versions of applications made for Windows or Linux, Querious is a stunning new app that is precise and easy to understand, giving you full control without getting in your way.

And from the looks of it it looks pretty cool. All for just $25. Must try it out, I guess.

Open Bookmark Groups with Safari

Safari has this really neat feature that is overlooked. It can open multiple sites at one time with just a few clicks. So, if you have a group of websites you visit often, you can easily load all of them at once in just one click.

To set them up all you have to do is:

1) Click on the Bookmarks icon in the Bookmarks bar to bring up your bookmarks.
2) In the Bookmarks Bar create a new folder (”Daily Blogs” for example)
3) Add you favorite links into the folder
4) You’ll see the folder in your Bookmarks Bar – all you have to do is click it.

All the sites within that folder will open into tabs and load at once. Be forewarned, however, they will replace any open tabs you have – so be sure you’re done with those other tabs, or open a new window before launching your bookmarked sites.
